Jumping for Joy

Don't call it a comeback! With Paris fashion week just around the corner I thought I'd try my hand at a spot of modelling to get in the mood - at least that's what I kept telling myself! After a small modelling career back when what feels like many moons ago now, I was coaxed back into the hotspot to help out a friend in need for her online website. A strange concoction of adrenalin and pure fear elevated me to the heady heights and well... see for yourselves

Ragazze Ornamentali

...delicate patina and pink gold chain, the clutch transforms itself into a bag whenever the occasion calls. Pierced with a feminine grosgrain ribbon, and loaded with an elegant personalised engraved interior mirror. Refined simplicity - simply refined!

A Taste of Arabia in Paris

39 rue Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire 75005 Paris (Tel: 01 43 31 38 20)
A Hammam spa, tea room, restaurant and boutique make for an uber exotic getaway spinning off the local mosque in the 5th Arrondissement. It feels like an afternoon in Marrakech - a break from the norm and now one of my favourite hangout hot spots.
All the surfaces were covered with intricate, elaborate wall art

Outside tea garden

Entrance to the main mosque area

Tea salon and restaurant

Amazingly rich decor

Scrumptious sweets at 2.50 (Euros) a piece

Morrocan mint tea 2.50 (Euros) a glass - so, so good!

Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2011: It's Finally Here - Opulent Opium

On Your Marks

Ready?

Set...  throughout, there was a distinct Seventies influence: silhouettes were either fluid and flowing or slim and slinky; colors were bright and often block; there was lamé and lurex, strass and sequins.

Though small in size, the collection's bags made a striking statement. Neat flap purses in two-tone calf with gold-link clasps dangled from long chains, as did python-trimmed pochettes with the Monogram pattern in wooly jacquard. Streamlined clutches came in color-blocked stingray or in multicolored sequined tiger stripes.

"The relation between boredom and camp taste cannot be overestimated. Camp taste is by its nature possible only in affluent societies, in societies or circles capable of experiencing the psychopathology of affluence."
Marc Jacobs unveiled his Spring/Summer 2011 collection for Louis Vuitton with a quotation from the essayist Susan Sontag.
Chinoiserie was also a recurrent theme in cheongsam dresses, jackets with mandarin collars, and fans fashioned from Monogram lace.

With such lavish detail on clothes, accessories stepped back from the spotlight this season.
