KENZO A/W11/12

'I had a dream,' said Kenzo's Creative Director Antonio Marras in his show notes. 'I was seduced by the total charm of the virile delicacy of female artists with rebel souls.'
A subtle palette of earth tones - mossy green, cedar, burnt brown, ocre, bronze, red and aubergine opened the Kenzo autumn/winter 2011/12 ladies collection. Chiffon prints encrusted with flower patterns, cashmere and lace striped fabrics paid homage to Marras' dream of New Mexico and revolutionary female artists such as Frida Kahlo and Georgia O'Keeffe. Rich brocades and delicate silks both featured deep, dense shades mixed in layers of fluid and masculine wools.
