PETAR PETROV 6pm Parc Royal, 10 rue du Parc Royal, Paris 3e

Petar Petrov, in my opinion, is one of the most understated menswear designer of the moment. I've had the priviledge of seeing his last two collections now and one word always comes to mind: CONSISTENT! Petrov's designs are consistently good, easy to wear and highly sophisticated. No fuss, no muss - just great clothes for the man secure enough in who he is (he doesn't need to hide behind big, obnoxious labels and logos!).
Petrov's autumn/winter 2011-12 unveiling during Paris Men's Fashion Week continued in the same vein - in terms of clear vision and pure minimalist chic - the silhouettes were clean and stylish. The collection featured fitted tappered trousers, short 70's blazers, leather t-shirts, silk shirts, trendy trench coats and leather sweatpants. I loved the juxtaposing of short oversized biker jackets over longer tailored blazers and shirts. A guy played live acoutic guitar in the corner of the room as the silhouettes rolled out one after another seemingly soothing and strumming away all our winter blues. The perfect antidote to a wet and cold day of back-to-back shows. Sheer bliss!
